As much as I like Al Davis, I just do not think he can do or should be doing as much talent evaluation as he does. The process has changed with video, computers and all the stats from the combines, that someone, with the knowledge of what these technologies tell you about a player, should be the person who evaluates the talent. And with all the money that the players are paid, as well as the salary cap, you can’t just sign a castoff as easily as the Raiders could in the past. Pulling someone from the scrap-heap just doesn’t happen the way it did in the 70s & 80s.

And, I’m definitely sure Al Davis is frustrated.  

But, again I ask…what’s it going to take??? 

Rich Gannon, CBS announcer and former Oakland Raider QB, touched on it toward the end of the game he was broadcasting vs. New Orleans. I’m paraphrasing here, but, essentially, he said, someone in the Raiders organization is going to have step and do something to right the ship. He didn’t mention who, or whether it be a player, a coach or, even Mr. Davis.
