So as I’m slowly pulling covers from my head and gingerly getting out of bed, on the Fri. morning after one of the most embarrassing games a Raiders’ fan could bear to watch, I count my blessings that I’m currently unemployed and don’t have to put up with the barrage of zingers and one-liners I would have to endure at the workplace. How could I ever go into work, to face my co-workers, knowing the Oakland Raiders got their butts handed to them by a division rival that’s, quite frankly, not that much of a better team than the Raiders are? While calling Bill Belichick a genius seems like a true statement, there was one time, recently, that makes me want to disagree with any statement of such. On December 14, when the Oakland Raiders played the New England Patriots, I had my whole perception of Mr. Belichick blown all to hell. Picture this scenario…4th quarter of the game, New England is up on the Raiders by 29 points with just over 2 minutes left in the game in, what can only be described as a monsoon-type rain storm. The Raiders complete a 4th down play for a 1st down and Genius Belichick disputes the spot of the ball and throws his red “Challenge” flag. Was this really necessary? Belichick’s genius move probably took more time for the officials to look at, discuss the placement, spot and re-measure
